Friday, 16 Feb 1906 Volume 40, Number 6 Sister Mary Matilda Sister Mary Matilda, known in the world as Ellen Kane, a member of the Order of St. Joseph, died at St. Bridget's Convent, Lilly, on Saturday afternoon, at 3:05 o'clock, of heart trouble, after an illness of about two weeks. She had been a member of the Order of St. Joseph for fourteen years and was engaged in teaching in the parochial schools at Lilly. Her home was in Carroll township. Here parents are both dead but she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mitchell and one brother, Peter Kane, both of Patton. She was thirty- six years of age. After a requiem mass in St. Bridget's church, Lilly, the remains were brought to Ebensburg, Tuesday morning and interred in the sisters' plot in the Catholic cemetery. A number of sisters accompanied the remains.
