Friday, October 24, 1890 Crushed by the Wheels. Yesterday afternoon a Hungarian named Michael Kassamiki was instantly killed at the eastern end of the stone bridge, Johnstown. He was walking on the Pennsylvania railroad and crossed from one track to another to get out of the way of an approaching freight train. In doing this he stepped directly in front of the Altoona accommodation, which was backing down to the switch. The rear car of the accommodation knocked him down and he was caught under the wheels. The train was stopped and the mangled body taken to the Pennsylvania railroad baggage room in that city, where it was afterward given in charge of an undertaker, by whom it was prepared for burial. Deceased was 19 years of age.
