Friday, 16 Mar 1906 Volume 40, Number 10 John Kearns The almost lifeless body of John Kearns, a well known resident of Summerhill, was found by an engineer shortly after 12 o'clock last Sunday morning, lying between the rail road tracks about seventy-five yards below the local station. Mr. Kearns had been over town and had left a barber shop shortly before 10 o'clock Saturday night. He had to cross the railroad tracks to reach his home, which is a short distance below the station, and it is thought that he was struck by an empty engine as he was crossing the tracks. Mr. Kearns was born in Summerhill township about thirty-six years ago. He was the son of Philip Kearns who died four years ago, and is survived by his mother, three children, and two brothers. The brothers are Daniel, at home; and Thomas of Conemaugh, who is an engineer on the PRR. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in the Catholic Church at Summerhill. Interment being in the cemetery at Wilmore.
