Friday, 1 Nov 1912 Volume 45, Number 43 Joseph Knauer Dies in Buggy While driving to his home at Munday's corner last Sunday evening, Jerry Knauer, about 60 years of age, died of heart trouble. His death was not discovered until his wife, who was with him, stopped the horse at the gate and was about to assist her aged husband from the buggy. The wife thought her husband had fallen asleep while jogging along in the buggy and was not aware that her husband was dead until she reached home. They had been to the Brethren church for the evening services. Besides his widow, Mr. Knauer is survived by the following children: Lia, wife of Henry Wentzel of Conemaugh; Eva, wife of William Buterbaugh of Nanty Glo; Harry, William, Jerry, Lloyd, Floyd, Vera and Dewey. Jerry Knauer was a brother of William A. Knauer, a member of the Ebensburg Planing Mill Co., and Mrs. Edward Evans, both of this place, who attended the funeral which occurred at the Pike Brethren church Wednesday afternoon.
