The Cambria freeman. (Ebensburg, Pa.) 1867-1938: May 07 & May 21, 1868
On Wednesday last, Stephen Lloyd Esq., departed this life, aged 84 years. The
deceased was our "oldest inhabitant." He came hither, with his father, Mr. Reese
Lloyd, when Ebensburg was a howling wilderness and resided here uninterruptedly till
his death... He occupied many positions of trust, having held the offices of County
Treasurer, County Commissioner, and County Surveyor, and filled every trust with
great acceptance. He leaves a large family of children, and his family connections
are of the most extensive in Cambria county... He was justly loved and respected
throughout his long and eventful life, and in death his memory will be revered.
