Friday, 4 Aug 1905 Volume 39, Number 30 Ambrose Lantzy Ambrose Lantzy of Moss Creek, Barr township, one of the most prominent citizens in the north of the county, died at his home on Sunday evening, July 30, 1905, aged 73 years, three months and six days. Mr. Lantzy was one of Barr township's substantial citizens. He had followed the occupation of farming all his life and few men had a larger circle of friends than the deceased. He cared very little for display in life but he had a kindly trait of being ever ready and willing to assist his friends and neighbors when burdened with troubles or afflictions and in his manner endeared himself to all about him. In the latter days of his life he was none the less big hearted and generous and his death removes from the community where he lived one of its best citizens. Mr. Lantzy's death was due to the diseases incident to old age from which he had been suffering for some time prior to his death. The deceased was married twice. The first time to Elizabeth Roberts. To this union the following named children were born: Valentine, Mary, Matilda and Rose, all of whom are deceased and Margaret, Philip, Franey, Frank and Emma, who survive their father. After the death of Mr. Lantzy's first wife many years ago, he was reunited in marriage to Catherine Rice, who together with the following children survives him: Ester, Agnes, Stephen, Lucy, Odella, Robert, Martha and Anna. Lawrence, another son of the deceased by his second wife, died some years ago. The deceased was a life long member of the Catholic church and the funeral took place from the St. Boniface Catholic Church on Tuesday morning after a high mass of requiem by the pastor. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
