He was born in Germany on Dec. 14, 1852, a son of Anthony and Johanna (Marks) Lauer, and came to this country sixty- five years ago. On Nov. 11, 1934, he and his wife, Mrs. Sarah Ann (Cole) Lauer, celebrated their sixty-second wedding anniversary. Surviving are his wife, seven sons and five daughters, Frank Lauer of Ashville, Alfred of Larimer, Mrs. Mary Foust and Albert Lauer of the city, Mrs. Eleanor Wolfe of Coupon, Edith Cullis of Conemaugh, Mrs. Ethel Hoffman of Patton, Otto and Walter Lauer of Girard, O., John of Ashville, Lawrence at home and Sister Sarah Ann of Pittsburgh. Fifty-two grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, one brother and one sister, Joseph of Ebensburg and Mrs. Jane McGinley of the city, also survive. Funeral services will he held in St. Thomas Catholic church, Ashville, Monday morning with requiem mass at [?] o'clock. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.
