Mrs. Catherine (Flood) Leap of 819 Case Avenue, Elyria, Ohio died Sunday June 13, 1976, at 
1:15 a.m. in the Elyria Memorial Hospital. She was 70 years of age.

Born June 23, 1905 at Johnstown, she was a daughter of Chester and Margaret Jane (Parson) 
Ridenour. She was thrice married: first to John Bray, then Austin Flood, and lastly to Philip 
Leap.

Surviving are a step-father, Paul Shoop of Blairs Mills R.D. and the following children: William 
Bray, Pompano Beach, Fla; Chester Bray, Wheeling, W. Va; Kenneth A. Flood, Elyria, Ohio; 
Paul Flood, Jonestown, and Mrs. Paul (Catherine) Brewer of Honey Grove. There are 24 
grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Leap was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church of Elyria, Ohio and belonged to the Rebekah 
Lodge of Thompsontown.

She was a retired practical nurse.

Funeral services were held this afternoon, June 16, at l:30 p.m. from the Raymond W. Ott 
Funeral Home, Orbisonia. The Rev. Boaz Smith of Blairs Mills, R.D. officiated and interment 
was made in the Salem Cemetery at Blairs Mills, R.D. 


Additional Comments:
Parents: Chester Arthur & Margaret Jane (Parsons) Ridenour. Chester was from Bedford County 
and died in Johnstown, PA. Margaret was from Tell Township.  Catherine was an only child.

Spouse 1: William John William Bray, son of Frederick James & Phillipa Rettalick Lyton (Bray) 
of Johnstown; Spouse 2: Charles Austin Woodrow Flood ("Austin C."), son of Daniel Jackson 
("JD") & Mary Olive "Marie" (Boggs) Flood of Tell Twp and later Lebanon, PA; Spouse 3: 
Phillip J. Leap, son of Herman Augustine & Annie Leap of Lilly, PA.
