Friday, 11 Oct 1912 Volume 45, Number 40 Ivan R. Linton Called by Death Ivan R. Linton died at 7:30 o'clock Thursday morning at his home in Johnstown. Death came after a long struggle against tuberculosis. His decline in health had been gradual, improvements being noticed in his condition at times, only to be followed by serious relapses. He had been accustomed to spending the winter months out of the city, seeking some warmer climate but last year his health was slightly improved and Mr. Linton decided to remain in Johnstown. Some months ago his health again began to decline and the efforts of his physicians were futile against the ravages of the disease. Mr. Linton was probably the best known member of the Knights of Pythias in this section of the state. He was a past chancellor of the Linton lodge, which was organized by his father, the late Col. John P. Linton. The branch was also named in honor of Col. Linton. Ivan R. Linton was born in Johnstown August 27, 1868. He was the son of the late Col. John P. Linton. The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Services will be conducted at the late home and interment will be made in the family plot in Grandview cemetery.
