Friday, 20 Jul 1906 Volume 40, Number 28 Death of John Lovett John Lovett, a pioneer resident of Cambria county, died at his home in Lovett last Wednesday evening in this 88th year. Mr. Lovett was a native of Danville, Pa., and for many years an employee of the Old Portage railroad, a boatman on the Old Pennsylvania Canal and the builder of a small steamboat while plied the waters of the old South Fork dam previous to the Flood of 1889. Mr. Lovett's wife, who died some years ago, was, before her marriage, Miss Elizabeth Ann Burke. These children survive: John of Moline, Kan., and Mrs. William M. Daugherty, Mrs. J. H. Topper, Miss Josephine E. Lovett and Miss Jennie Lovett of near Lovett.
