(Ebensburg, Pa.) 1867-1938: March 16, 1872 George McClane, Esq., an old and highly esteemed citizen of this borough, closed his earthly career at noon yesterday, after having attained the patriarchal age of 74 years. Mr. McClane removed from Blairsville to this place nearly thirty-two years ago, and has resided here ever since. He was first employed on the Pennsylvania canal, afterwards as a locomotive engineer, and finally for many years was in the employ of the Cambria Iron Company. Owing to ill health, however, he was forced to relinquish his labors several months ago. He was the father of a large and much respected family, nearly all whom are now married and comfortably settled in life. Few men among us had earned more fully the good will of the entire community, and his death is a source of sincere regret. Ever green be his memory.
