The Cambria freeman. (Ebensburg, Pa.) 1867-1938: March 16, 1872
Died, at her residence in Summerhill township, this county, on Friday morning, March
8th, after a painful illness of five days, Mrs. Mary McDunn, wife of Mr. Patrick
McDunn, Sr., in the 67th year of her age. Mrs. McDunn was born in the county
Westmeath, Ireland, in the year 1805, emigrated to this country in 1826 and resided
in Cambria county for upwards of thirty years. She was a good, exemplary Christian,
a faithful wife, loving mother, kind friend, and a most excellent neighbor...  On
Sunday last the mortal remains of the deceased were escorted to their last resting
place by an immense concourse of relatives and friends, the last ceremonies were
performed, and the cold earth now covers the rigid form of as worthy a woman as ever
closed her eyes in the sleep of death. May her immortal spirit find rest and peace
eternal.
