Friday, 10 Nov 1905 Volume 39, Number 44 Michael MacTaggart Michael MacTaggart, one of Barnesboro's prominent men, died about 6:30 o'clock Friday evening at his home of cancer of the stomach. Mr. MacTaggart was a native of Glasgow, Scotland, and, with his wife came to this country about ten years ago, located at Barnesboro and found employment in the mines there. He was an energetic worker and gradually became prominent in the United Mine Workers of America circles. He was at one time president of sub-district No. 1 of district No. 2, but was obliged to resign that position the early part of this year owing to his health. Since then and up until the time of his death he was proprietor of the MacTaggart restaurant at Barnesboro. The deceased leaves a wife and one son and one sister in Barnesboro and one sister and a brother in Scotland. After a high mass had been said over his remains Monday morning at the Holy Cross church of which he was a member, interment was made in the church cemetery at Barnesboro.
