Friday, 28 Sep 1906 Volume 40, Number 38 Killed by a Train Blandburg Soldier Boy Loses Life in Wyoming William Lloyd Maines, of Blandburg, was killed at about 6:30 a. m., August 25, 1906, at Fort D. A. Russell, Wyoming, having been run over by a passenger train. He was enroute to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, being selected as prison guard at Fort Leavenworth by his company commander on account of his excellent character. He was buried at the Post cemetery at Fort D. A. Russell, Wyoming, the same date with all due military honors.
