Friday, 1 Dec 1905 Volume 39, Number 47 James Mangus Old Civil War Veteran Passes Away at Alms House James Mangus, aged 64 years, died Sunday morning at the county almshouse near this place. He had been ill for some time from paralysis. He was admitted to the county home Oct. 4 from Jackson township. It is said that his wife is at present living in Nantyglo. He is survived by one son, George of Dilltown, Indiana county, and three daughters. The deceased was a veteran of the Civil War, having served in Co. E, Fifty-fourth Regiment, Pennsylvania volunteers. Friends claimed the remains which were interred Tuesday afternoon in the Munday cemetery in Jackson township.
