Friday, 13 Jan 1905 Volume 39, Number 1 Fatally Injured at Cresson While shoveling snow from the station platform at Cresson on No. 4 track, Saturday afternoon, Pietro Manno, an Italian laborer, was struck by a westbound snapper and so badly injured that he died at the Altoona hospital two hours later. A freight was passing the man on track 5. The light engine whizzed by and the freight made so much noise that the Italian did not hear it. He was struck and thrown 30 or 40 feet. People at Cresson station picked the man up and sent him to Altoona, where at the hospital, his injury was found to be a bad fracture at the base of the skull. He died at 5 o'clock. The unfortunate man was 25 years old and lived at Gallitzin.
