Wednesday, August 1, 1866 FATAL RAILROAD ACCIDENT - Bernard McBride, a resident of Johnstown, and a passenger on the Emigrant Train West on Saturday last, fell from the platform of one of the cars, near Cresson Station, while the train was under full headway and was almost instantly killed - his brains being knocked out by coming in contact with a crosstie. The deceased was a puddler at the Cambria Iron Works, and was in the strike now prevailing amongst the employees of said works. He was on the return home from Hollidaysburg, where he was working, and is said to have been intoxicated at the time of the accident. His mother and several brothers and sisters reside in Johnstown.
