Friday, 19 Oct 1906 Volume 40, Number 42 John McCleary John McCleary, the only son of Jerome F. and Lizzie Daniels McCleary, former residents of Johnstown, died at the home of his parents in Ebensburg at 2:30 o'clock Monday morning, aged 12 years and 6 days. The cause of death was inflammatory rheumatism, a violent attack of which was brought on by the exposure the lad suffered by being caught in a hard rain recently while after chestnuts. The deceased was born in the First ward, Johnstown. His father was for many years employed as a printer on various local newspapers in Johnstown and over a year ago, came to Ebensburg to work on the MOUNTAINEER-HERALD. Besides his parents the deceased is survived by two sisters, the Misses Mary and Ruth McCleary. He was a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Daniels of Walnut street, Johnstown. The remains were taken to Johnstown overland Monday afternoon by undertaker Pendry of Johnstown. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon. The services were in charge of the Revs. Dr. C. C. Hays, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, assisted by the Rev. W. D. Lewis, pastor of the First Congregational church. Interment was made in Grandview Cemetery.
