The Altoona Times had an account of the following accident yesterday morning, and for additional particulars we are indebted to the Johnstown Tribune of April 14: John Martin and family live on Railroad street, corner of Fifth avenue, Sixteenth ward. Last evening Mrs. Martin received a telegram announcing that her brother, James McCord, had been killed at Fallen Timber, on the Cresson and Clearfield railroad. This morning Mr. and Mrs. Martin went up the mountain to take charge of the remains. Interment will be made at Gallitzin, where rest the remains of the deceased's mother, who died three years ago. McCord left Johnstown about three months ago, his last employment here being at the Johnson works. From this place he went to Benscreek, and thence to Frugality, on the Cresson and Clearfield railroad, where he was employed as a miner. Yesterday he made a trip on the railroad to a point beyond Fallen Timber and in the afternoon boarded a train to return to Frugality. At Fallen Timber the train stopped and McCord alighted. When the train started he attempted to board it, but was caught by a piece of timber and thrown under a car. His body was run over and cut in two and the lower half was chopped to pieces. The parts were gathered up by the trainmen and taken to Frugality, where they remained until this morning, when they were forwarded to Gallitzin. Mr. McCord was 30 years of age and unmarried.
