Donald McGeary at Gallitzin Met with Fatal Accident While at Work in Braddock Last Week Donald McGeary, a young man from Gallitzin, aged 17 years, and who was weighman for the Edgar Thompson steelworks at Braddock was so badly injured while at work on the 15th that he died in the Pittsburg hospital the following morning. Mr. McGeary had no bad habits, was a particularly bright young man and was a universal companion among his associates. In fact, every person who knew him spoke in the highest praise of his sterling qualities. He was one of the graduates from the Gallitzin High School last May, was vice president of his class and at the commencement exercise delivered the "Prophecy," with great ability. He went to Braddock on June 24th last to take up the work in which he was engaged when he met with the accident that caused his death. He was the eldest of the three sons of Mrs. Bid McGeary. His father was James McGeary, a well known veterinary surgeon, who was accidentally killed on the railroad nine years ago while making a professional call. His mother took care with her little family and worked hard in trying to give them a good education. The sorely afflicted mother and his young brothers, Allan and Don (sic), have the heartfelt sympathies of all in Gallitzin. After a requiem high mass on Saturday at 10 o'clock at which Father J. J. Deasey was the celebrant, his remains were laid to rest in St. Patrick's cemetery beside those of his father.
