Thomas McGibnay, of Barnsboro, died at the hospital at 11.15 o'clock yesterday morning of pneumonia. Deceased was aged 72 years and was admitted to the institution last Saturday. Some time ago he fell at his home and later caught a cold which developed into pneumonia. Coroner McCartney was notified and took charge of the effects of the dead man. He deemed an inquest unnecessary. When McGibnay was admitted he said he was from Philipsburg. Coroner McCartney discovered he was from Barnsboro and notified relatives at Gallitzin. They will likely claim the body. Morning Tribune Altoona, PA Thursday, March 8, 1900 Body Sent to Gallitzin. The remains of Thomas McGivney, who died at the hospital Tuesday, were prepared for burial by Undertaken [sic] Lynch yesterday morning and sent to Gallitzin. The funeral will take place this morning at Gallitzin, services to be held in St. Patrick's Catholic church. Interment in the cemetery connected with the church.
