Friday, November 4, 1904 Volume XXXVIII, Number 43 Dies on way to Hospital, Ehrenfeld, Nov. 1: Andrew Mekus, the Slav who was seriously injured by falling from the P. R. R. Bridge at Portage last night, died in the P. R. R. Station at this place about 3:30 o'clock this afternoon. Mekus was attended upon his arrival here by Dr. Scott who ordered his removal to the Memorial Hospital of Johnstown. The injured man was taken to the station to be placed on the train but passed away shortly before the arrival of the train. He was thirty-five years of age and had a wife and several children. Undertaker Dimond of South Fork took charge of the body and prepared it for burial. The funeral will take place tomorrow.
