"Ella Mae Mickel of 120 5th Ave., died at 7:45p.m. yesterday, July 9, 1971 in Altoona Hospital 
after en extended illness.  She was born January 19, 1906 in Rosedale, Cambria County, a 
daughter of Sydney & Mary (Vickroy) Roddy, and September 9, 1925 married Charles L. Mickel 
who died October 22, 1969.  Surviving are eight children, Harold & Darryl of Alum Bank, 
Bernard D. of Lancaster, Ronald A. of Canan Station, James R. of Somerset and Wayne A., 
Thomas M. and Mrs. Cheryl Macak; 18 grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Stelle (sic) Ellis, 
Mrs. Esther Coutts of Johnstown and Mrs. Ethyl Huntley of Camden, NJ.  Friends will be 
received in the Bigelow Funeral Home from 7 to 9 pm today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm 
tomorrow."

Additional Comments:

Ella (Roddy) Mickel was also predeceased by 5 brothers: William A. Roddy, Sr. in 1948; infant 
brother Walter Roddy in 1898; Howard S. in 1943; infant Arthur in 1908 & Sydney E., Jr. in 
1911 as a child.
