Thomas Ott Rev. Father Thomas B. Ott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ott, of St. Boniface, this County, died at Johns Hill, Ky., at 3 o'clock Wednesday morning of last week of consumption. He had been ailing sometime but his condition did not reach a serious state until about six weeks ago when he was stricken with an attack of pneumonia which hastened his death and he passed peacefully away at the time above mentioned. The deceased was born in St. Boniface on June 1, 1872, and at the time of his death was aged 34 years, 11 months and 14 days. He was educated for the Priesthood at St. Vincent's College, Beatty, where he studied five years and at St. Bernard's College at Cullmar, Alabama. He was ordained to the priesthood at Covington, Kentucky, on July 25, '97 and read his first mass in the church at St. Boniface on August 1, 1897. Father Ott was stationed at Lexington, Kentucky, and later transferred to Newport, Alexandria and Morninghew of that state. For the past five years he had been located at Johns Hill where he died. He is survived by his parents and the following brothers and sisters: Henry J.; John G.; Mary, wife of Theodore Hoover; and Katharine, wife of Thomas Quinn, all of St. Boniface and Barbara, Elizabeth and Minnie, at home. The remains were brought to the home of his parents at St. Boniface from which place the funeral services took place at ten o'clock Saturday morning with interment in St. Benedict's Cemetery at Carrolltown.
