Plotts, retired Chicago printer and advertising man, died at 10 o'clock last night at the home of his sister, Ida R. Plotts of 908 Park Avenue, Moxham. He was in his 85th year. His demise terminated an illness of five weeks. Mr. Plotts had been a resident of this city for the past 12 years. For many years he was in the employ of Chicago publishing companies in various capacities. Born December 15, 1852, near Stroudsburg, Franklin Plotts was a son of the late Peter W. and Wilhelmina (Schmidt) Plotts. In addition to the sister, at whose home he died, Mr. Plotts is survived by a brother, William Plotts of Anderson, Cal., and these half-sisters and half-brothers: Mrs. Joseph Cawthern of Highland Avenue, Mrs. J. D. Ripple of Oak Street, Mrs. John Mitchell of Cleveland, O.; Mrs. Ernest Stewart of Highland Avenue and Herbert Plotts of Cypress Avenue. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Plotts home by Rev. George R. Haden, pastor of the Grove Avenue Methodist Church. Interment in Grandview Cemetery will be directed by the John Henderson Company.
