(Ebensburg, Pa.) 1867-1938: December 16 & 23, 1871 The small pox is said to be very bad on Laurel Hill, in Jackson township, some eight to ten miles west of this place. Mr. Philip Rager died there of the disease on Tuesday and a man named Lee is reported to have fallen a victim to the same malady on Wednesday. Mrs Rager, wife of Philip Rager, whose death from small pox we noticed last week, has since died of the same disease, being the third victim on Laurel Hill.
