Rickard, aged 87, a veteran of the Civil War, who died at an early hour on Tuesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Krise, near Dean, will be held at 9:30 o’clock this Wednesday morning in the Catholic church at St. Augustine, and burial will be made in the church cemetery, making the 47th veteran to be interred in the oldest cemetery of this region, which, as yet, does not include a single world war veteran. During the Civil War he served in the 119th Reg’t. of Volunteer Infantry. He had been an ardent hunter and fisherman for many years. His wife, Mrs. Anna (Hammond) Rickard passed away 25 years ago. Mr. Rickard was a brother of Jas. Rickard, of Madera; Martin Rickard, of Frugality, and Mrs. Catherine Fister, of Montana. The following children also survive: Mr. Mary Krise, of St. Augustine; Mrs. John Krise of Fallen Timber; Mrs. Agnes Weakland and Mrs. Alma Lewis of Irvona; Mrs. Claire Anderson, of New York City and Miss Anna Rickard of Frugality.
