(Ebensburg, Pa.) 1867-1938: November 17, 1870 In Wilmore, this county, on the 6th inst., Mrs. Elizabeth Rockett, in the 58th year of her age. The father of Mrs. Rockett was one of the first settlers of Cambria county, having come to the Alleghenies when they were covered by trackless forests and the abode only of beasts of prey. Her husband died many years ago, leaving her with seven small children to make her way through the world, and right bravely did she accomplish her labor of love. She lived to see three of her children borne to the tomb, the youngest of whom died only a few weeks ago. The care, anxiety and deep solicitude she manifested for her son in his last illness, and the poignant grief which pierced her heart when he was summoned from earth forever, no doubt hastened her own death, and led to the early union of both, we hope, in a happy eternity. Mrs. Rockett was an earnest and devoted member of the Catholic Church, punctual and devout in her religious duties, and true and tender in her relationships. She lived and died a sincere Christian...
