Sad Life Ended 

After making all preparations to retire in her room at the 
residence of Dr. O. J. Stricker at Portage where she was 
employed as a domestic, Miss Lizzie Reiland, aged 21, 
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Reiland, who live at 
Spring Hill, committed suicide Sunday evening by firing a
revolver shot into her right temple.  She lived but about 
ten minutes.

No plausible reason can be found for the deed. It is said, 
however, that a broken engagement might have caused the 
young woman to end her life, as it is known she had 
returned a ring to a young man.
