She Went to Sleep Near a Window in Her Home, Fell Out and Broke Her Neck. JOHNSTOWN, Pa., July 27. - Mrs. Margaret Rippin, aged 73 years, whose son, Henry C. Rippin, was killed on the railroad the night of July 14th, fell from the window of her bedroom, at No. 136 H street, some time last night and was found dead this morning at about 6 o'clock. Coroner Miller was notified and made in investigation. He learned that Mrs. Rippin had been ill for the past year and that, since her son's sudden end, she had been confined to her bed most of the time. It seems that last night she had gone to the window of her room on the second floor and was sitting in a chair by the open sash and in that position fell asleep. In some way she fell out of the window and to the ground below, striking so hard that a brick lying under the window was broken. In her descend she struck on the side of her face, bruising her face and breaking her neck. The coroner decided to hold no inquest. The old lady had been in a serious condition since her son's death. Her mind wandered and she seemed to act childishly. She was the mother of eight children, but only two now survive - Raldolph, of Harrisburg, and John, who resides at her former home in Frederick county, Maryland. She leaves twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her husband died nineteen years ago and since that time she has been making her home with her children, having been at the home of Henry C. Rippin for several years. The funeral will take place tomorrow forenoon at 10 o'clock, with services in the Rippin home, No. 136 H street, by the Rev. William Bassett. Interment will follow in Decker's cemetery.
