James A. Rote 

James A. Rote, an employee at the Bellefonte furnace, was recently killed 
at that plant.  He was riding on a flat car which was being shifted and 
the spike holding one of the rails pulled out causing the car to jump the 
track.  He was thrown forward directly in front of the wheels which passed 
over him.  Death was instantaneous.  Deceased was aged 31 years, was 
married and was a favorite among his associates.
