Wednesday, June 15, 1870 DIED - RYAN - On Friday evening, an employee of the railroad at Altoona, named John Ryan, in attempting to jump on the fast line, while it was leaving the depot, unfortunately missed his footing and fell to the track, and one of his legs was so badly crushed as to render amputation necessary. He was on his way to Johnstown, where his family resides. Intelligence was received on Saturday of his death about 11 o'clock.
