The Cambria freeman. (Ebensburg, Pa.) 1867-1938: September 07, 1871
Died, in Summerhill township, on Monday morning last, of apoplexy, after a few days
illness, Mr. Christian Smay, aged about 58 years. It is with feelings of unfeigned
regret that we chronicle the demise of this estimable and much respected citizen. He
was an honest, industrious, and temperate man, a devout and humble Christian. In his
last illness he received the rites of the Catholic Church; to which he many years
ago became a convert and has since been an exemplary and earnest member. The
deceased has left a large and highly respected family, who have the sincere sympathy
of all our people in their great bereavement...)
