Friday, November 19, 1909 Volume 43, Number 47 Anthony Sankers Dead Anthony Sankers, a prominent resident of Allegheny Township, died at his home Tuesday, death being the result of diseases incident to old age. The funeral was held from the Catholic Church at Loretto this (Friday) morning and was largely attended. Mr. Sankers was a devout Catholic and a lifelong Democrat. The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Sankers. His mother was born in Adams County while his father was born in Germany. The deceased was married Feb. 29, 1848 to Susan Parrish who died Feb. 2, 1875. These children survive: Manuel, George and Mary Sankers, at home in Allegheny Township; Caroline, wife of M. Bradley of Allegheny Township and William and Zeta, at home. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Two brothers, Samuel of Gallitzin and Ambrose of Loretto, also survive. The deceased had been living on his Allegheny Township farm since 1850 and was well known through that district. He was about 90 years of age.
