Charles Schaffer, one of the best known residents of 
Gallitzin, died yesterday afternoon of paralysis at the age 
of 56 years, 7 months and 18 days.  He was a native of 
Germany but located in Gallitzin many years ago.  His last 
employment was as a watchman for the Gallitzin Sand & Stone 
Co.  Mr. Schafer (sic) is survived by his widow, three 
sons, James, John, William and two daughters, Mrs. Sarah 
Muscovich and Mrs. Annie L. Brady, all of Gallitzin.  
Arrangements for the funeral have not yet been completed.
