Cambria Pioneers Daughter Expires 

Mrs. Victoria Shoffner died at Roanoke, Va., Jan. 25, after 
a long illness.  She was a daughter of John and Julia Zerbe 
and a great granddaughter of Captain Michael McGuire of the 
American Revolution and first settler of Cambria County.  
She was married to John Shoffner at St. Augustine and lived 
at Johnstown and Altoona, later removing to Roanoke where 
her husband died, leaving to her the care of seven children 
who survive her.  She is also survived by a number of 
brothers and sisters.  The Zerbes live now between St. 
Augustine and Chest Springs.
