Friday, 12 Jul 1912 Volume 45, Number 27 Michael Slattery Killed by Fast Freight Michael Slattery, 45 years old and unmarried, of Cresson, was instantly killed about 5 o'clock Monday morning when he was run down by a fast freight train while walking on the tracks near the telegraph office at this place. Mr. Slattery had lived all his life in Cresson. He was at one time a miner but later worked as a brakeman and an extra conductor on the C. & C. Division of the PRR. He had not been working, however, for the past year. Besides his mother, Mrs. Mary Slattery, he is survived by two sisters - Mrs. Michael Clully and Mrs. Daniel O'Donnell, all of Cresson.
