	Sloan, Esther (Michaels), 64, 412 Clearwater St., died Jan. 13, 1992, at Mercy
Medical Center.  Born Nov. 24, 1927, in Beaverdale, daughter of late Ellis H.
and Cecilia (Sheridan) Michaels.  Preceded in death by brothers, John, Walter
and Donald, and sister Olive Brence.  Survived by husband, John R., and the
following children: Janet M., wife of Kenneth Allen, Harrisburg; Joseph L.,
married to former Ellen Fasnacht, Huntingdon; Michael W., Pittsburgh; Patricia
A., wife of Ashley Taylor, at home; and grandson John R. Sloan, Huntingdon. 
Sister of Ethel Kemmerer, South Hampton; Edward, Beaverdale; James, Cleveland,
Ohio; Herbert, Jeannette; and David, Johnstown.  Retired switchboard operator at
Conemaugh hospital.  Member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church, where Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Msgr. Joseph R.
Kiniry, VG. Entombment, St. Joseph's Mausoleum.  Friends will be received from 2
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc., where
wake service will be held Tuesday.  In lieu of flowers, family requests
donations to Renal Department, Mercy Medical Center.
