Former Ebensburger Dead 

John R. Smith, a former well-known Ebensburger who has been residing at 
East Dixmont, Maine, died there March 18th, aged 79 years.  He was 
employed here before the war by the late Hon. A. A. Barker driving team and 
was an old soldier and a Mason.  His second wife was Miss Susan Helman of 
Strongstown, Indiana county, Pa., who survives him with seven children. He 
was a brother of R. E. Smith of Johnstown and of A. W. Smith of McPherson, 
Kansas.
