Friday, 23 Aug 1912 Volume 45, Number 33 Gallitzin Man Dies in Pittsburg Word was received yesterday of the death of Joseph A. Smith at the Mercy hospital in Pittsburg. Mr. Smith was taken ill suddenly a few days ago while on his way to the home of his sister in Altoona. He was removed to the Pittsburg institution. Elizabeth Smith, a sister of Mr. Smith, is also a patient in the hospital and is in a serious condition as the result of the shock of her brother's death. Mr. Smith spent practically all his life in Cambria county. He was born in Tunnelhill about forty-two years ago. Surviving are the following brothers and sisters: The Rev. Fathers Thomas and Matthew Smith of the Sacred Heart Church, Altoona; Edward of Altoona; James of Wilmore; Mrs. William Quinn of Altoona; Mrs. Plummer of Altoona and two sisters who are nuns. The body was brought to Gallitzin yesterday morning.
