Friday, 24 Feb 1905 Volume 39, Number 7 Frederick C. Snyder Frederick C. Snyder, a well known resident of Vetera, died at his home in that place at 10:30 Saturday evening, February 11, from cancer of the liver. Mr. Snyder was a son of Nicholas Snyder, one of the early German settlers in Northern Cambria and was born February 2, 1847 and was aged 58 years and 9 days. In May 1872 he was united in marriage at Carrolltown to Miss Mary Biller of Loretto, who still survives. To this union there were born six children, of whom four are still living: Nicholas J. of Barnesboro, Frank of Vetera and Annie and Maggie, still at home. Mr. Snyder resided for a number of years at Nicktown but for the past 21 years has lived at Vetera where he followed his occupation as blacksmith. He was of a rugged constitution and pursued his work until December 17. The deceased was an excellent citizen, kind neighbor, honest and industrious. He was a life long member of the Catholic church. The funeral services were held Tuesday morning, Feb. 15, in St. Benedict's Church, Carrolltown, interment following in the church cemetery.
