Friday, 19 Oct 1906 Volume 40, Number 42 Death of David Somerville David Somerville, a young man well known in this vicinity, died at the Memorial Hospital in Johnstown on Thursday morning following a recent operation for appendicitis. Mr. Somerville was stricken ill about four weeks ago and the attending physician advised his removal to a hospital where an operation might be performed. He was taken to the Johnstown institution almost two weeks ago where he was operated upon. Following the operation his condition became much better and his friends anticipated his recovery to good health in a short time. The deceased was a son of ex-Poor Director James Somerville of Susquehanna township and was a fine young man. Only recently he was united in marriage with a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David G. Griffith of East Ebensburg, and soon thereafter he became a partner in the firm of Griffith, Somerville & Griffith. They embarked in the dairy business, supplying Ebensburg with milk. The illness and subsequent death of this member of the firm has been a sad blow to his family and his partners in business. No particulars concerning the funeral are obtainable at this date.
