Thursday Morning, February 15, 1917 Funeral of Sister Agnes Marie. On Monday morning, in the convent chapel of the Sisters of Mercy of Cresson was celebrated a solemn mass of requiem for the repose of the soul of Sister Agnes Marie, for eight years a member of the Mercy order. Her short life was marked by zeal and fidelity to duty that is characteristic of the truly noble and her loss will be keenly felt by the members of the Cresson community, by the children she so conscientiously instructed and the poor she loved. The Rev. Joseph Craven was celebrant of the mass, Rev. J. Deasy, deacon, and Rev. E. McDermott, sub-deacon. A number of the diocesan clergy were present, among whom were Revs. Carr, Ph. Bohan, J. Byrne, J. O'Connor, J. Eagan, McGee and Bernard Conley. The sermon was preached by Rev. Bernard Conley, on the text: "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord." Those who followed the young priest's discourse to its exquisite finish, recognized in its beauty and pathos and appreciate a tribute to the charm and consistency of a holy life.
