Friday, 18 Oct 1912 Volume 45, Number 41 Mrs. Philip Stoltz Dies at Home of Son Mrs. Mary A. Stoltz, widow of Philip Stoltz, died last Saturday morning at the home of her son, V. J. Stoltz, proprietor of the Central hotel, Carrolltown, of paralysis. The deceased was born in Germany 81 years ago, coming to America when quite young. She was married 60 years ago in the old St. Joseph's Catholic church – "Hart's Sleeping Place" – near Carrolltown. Her husband died 18 years ago. Mrs. Stoltz is survived by the following children: James and B. J. Stoltz of Carrolltown; Mrs. Bert Luther of Carrolltown; Anslem of Houtzdale; Dennis, Bert and Mrs. Charles Fox of Altoona; Mrs. Charles Reifsnyder of Denver, Col. Two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Bern of Altoona and Mrs. Peter Stoltz of Carrolltown, both older than Mrs. Philip Stoltz, also survive. Mrs. Philip Stoltz was a member of the Altar and Rosary societies connected with St. Benedict's Catholic church, Carrolltown. The funeral was held at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning with a requiem mass in St. Benedict's church. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
