THOMAS, 70, of Patton RD, was dead on arrival Sunday, March 30, 1980, at Miners Hospital, Spangler. Known as Barti, Mr. Thomas retired as a welder from Bethlehem Mines 31. Nanty Glo. He was born Aug. 3, 1909, in Patton RD, the son of Charles D. and Rose Emma (O'Leary) Thomas, and married Mary Jane Watson. Surviving are his wife and four sisters, Mrs. Edith Willard and Mrs. Rose Emma Reilly of Upland, Calif.; Mrs. Lenor Reese of FarmingtOn Hills, Mich., and Mrs. Ada Crowell of Patton. Mr. Thomas was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Walter McCoy American Legion Post and John White VFW Post of Patton, Nanty Glo UMW A Local, Newburg Fire. Co. and Frohsinn Singing' Society. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Stevens Funeral Home, Patton.
