Friday, 15 Mar 1907 Volume 41, Number 11 Demise of a Well Known Pioneer Resident of Northern Cambria Another of the old pioneer residents of Northern Cambria county passed away Tuesday at 9:50 a.m. when Mrs. Elizabeth Noel Thomas, the wife of Jacob Thomas of Thomas Mills, died after an illness extending over a period of seven years. The exact cause of her demise is not known but was the result of an injury received several years ago when she fell and broke her hip. From that time until her death she was an invalid and never left the house. Mrs. Thomas was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Noel and was born in Clearfield township on October 12, 1835, and would therefore have been 72 years of age had she lived until October next. She was married to Mr. Thomas in June, 1855, at St. Augustine and after her marriage made her home in Chest township, near St. Lawrence, until the family moved to the farm now owned by George Cassidy and where she was born, her father selling the place to Mr. Thomas, who in turn disposed of it to Mr. Cassidy. In 1873 the family moved to Thomas Mills where they have since resided. Besides her husband, Mrs. Thomas is survived by the following sons and daughters: Mary A., the wife of John R. Cordell of Patton; Cecelia, wife of John Roy of Chest township; Albert, Theodore and Martin of Patton and Howard, at home. The funeral was held in the church at St. Boniface Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at which time a high mass of requiem was said by Rev. Father Raphael. The interment was in the church cemetery.
