Friday, 23 Feb 1912 Volume 45, Number 8 Miss Sarah Thomas Dead Miss Sarah J. Thomas, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John R. Thomas, died at 8:15 o'clock Monday evening at her home on Horner street. Miss Thomas was 48 years of age and had been a cripple from the age of 11, having needed a wheel chair for many years. The deceased contracted a severe cold several weeks ago which settled on the bronchial tubes and caused her death. She was a member of the Calvinistic Methodist church and the daughters of Rebekah. She is survived by one brother, O. F. of New Cambria, Mo.; and four half-brothers – William E. Rowland of Cambria township; Leighton Rowland and Marshall Rowland of Ebensburg and Harry Rowland of New Cambria, Mo. Her father, the late John R. Thomas, passed away at the close of the Civil War and her mother died in this place in 1899. Funeral services were held in the Congregational church yesterday by the Rev. W. H. Williams and the Rev. H. H. Guerney. Interment was made in the cemetery at Hermon today, Friday.
