Friday, 27 Jan 1911 Volume 45, Number 4 Ira Tibbott Dead Ebensburg folks were greatly shocked Monday when they heard of the death in Johnstown of Ira Tibbott, son of Deputy Register and Recorder Sherman Tibbott. The remains were brought to this place Tuesday morning and the funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Christian church. Interment was in Lloyd's cemetery. Mr. Tibbott died early Monday morning after weeks of suffering from a carbuncle. The young man bore his agony for many long weeks with remarkable fortitude. The deceased was a son of Sherman and Elizabeth A. (Rowland) Tibbott and was born in Ebensburg Feb. 11, 1889. He spent the greater part of his life at his native place where he was employed by the Tibbott Drug Company, owned by his father and brother. He was married two years ago to Miss Mabel Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Jones of Ebensburg and went to Johnstown a year later, securing employment in the Gautier department of the Cambria Steel Company. The carbuncle which refused to yield to treatment first appeared about three months ago. The young man is survived by his widow, his parents and a brother and sister, Harvey and Miss Emma.
