Friday, April 5, 1907 CONEMAUGH BOY DECAPITATED. Supposed to Have Fallen Off a Freight Train on the Mountain Early This Morning. Howard Vicroy, aged about 17 years, and whose home was at Conemaugh, was instantly killed on the Pennsylvania railroad near Allegripppus, eight miles west of Altoona, early this morning. It is supposed that he fell from an east-bound freight train, going down between the cars to the track. His head was completely severed from the body as slick as though done with a knife and, strange to say, the head and face were not disfigured in the least. The right arm was ground off at the shoulder. The body was found lying along the tracks by a train crew that passed the scene of the accident some time later, was put on train No. 20, the Johnstown accommodation, brought to Altoona, and turned over to Undertaker Lafferty. Coroner Blackburn found a paper on the boy's clothes with the name Vicroy on, and telephoned the trainmaster at Conemaugh, who notified young Vicroy's grandfather, David Hilderbrand [sic]. He came to Altoona on the 11.35 train and identified the remains. He said the boy had been employed at the Cambria iron works and did not know why he had left Johnstown. The remains will be shipped to Conemaugh on the 8 o'clock train tomorrow morning. 1900 East Taylor, Cambria County census - William Vickroy, 44 Alice Vickroy, 43 Manuel Vickroy, 13 Howard Vickroy, 11 Melon Vickroy, 9 Lemon Vickroy, 5
