Friday Evening, June 9, 1893 A Freight Brakeman Drowned in the Gallitzin Dam. Yesterday morning while a freight train was standing on the tracks along the reservoir or dam near Gallitzin, Brakeman Daniel Weaver and the flagman, whose name we didn't learn, got into a small row boat to take a ride. After getting out into deep water the men attempted to change positions and the boat capsized, throwing both out. The flagman was barely able to reach the shore, but Weaver, who couldn't swim, was drowned. His body was recovered and sent to his home in South Fork yesterday afternoon. He was a young, unmarried man.
